Saint Louis Fashion Incubator (SLFI) is a two-year, intensive program offering emerging designers tools and guidance to take their businesses to the next level. Our inaugural class kicked off in January 2017, offering the chosen six SLFI designers tools, education, and mentorship.
Free Studio Space and Designer Offices
Housed in a 7,500-square-foot, light-filled building in St. Louis’ historic garment district, the space includes shared work, retail and education space, state-of-the-art equipment, and access to small run sampling and manufacturing.
The stipend can be used at the designer’s discretion to offset the cost of relocation, travel, supplies, etc.
Mentorship and Business Support
SLFI designers will leverage key industry connections and partnerships, as well as a nationally recognized advisory board.
SLFI designers will have the opportunity to participate in trunk shows, pop-up shops, e-commerce, and market week opportunities in major markets.
With introductions to St. Louis-based businesses, manufacturing firms, retailers, tech start-ups, and world-class arts, culture and educational institutions, SLFI designers will become an integral part of the thriving cultural ecosystem in St. Louis.
Through partnerships with Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts and a network of local and national partners, SLFI designers will benefit from two years of intense business, fashion, merchandising, and retail programming, as well as guest speakers, workshops, and panels.
