André Leon Talley
In St. Louis
On June 23rd and 24th, we had the honor and pleasure of hosting André Leon Talley in St. Louis. It was a memorable weekend full of wonderful events and endless moments of inspiration from Mr. Talley. Below you'll find galleries from our Evening with André Leon Talley, Mr. Talley holding court at the Incubator, and his conversation at the Saint Louis Art Museum about men's fashion, coinciding with their exhibit, "Reigning Men".
An Evening with André Leon Talley Hosted by Saint Louis Fashion Fund.
We had a magical evening with André Leon Talley at a private dinner held at Susan Sherman's home. Mr. Talley received the Annual Fashion Fund Award, presented to exceptional figures in the fashion world. Past honorees have included Iris Apfel, Derek Blasberg, Karlie Kloss, Paul Dillinger and posthumously Jay Singleton. Our dinner was al fresco at twilight and catered by Tara and Michael Gallina of Vicia. The dinner was attended by our Inaugural Class of designers, our board members, community supporters and other fabulous guests such as Cameron Silver, Decades founder and fashion director for H by Halston and H Halston.

André Leon Talley Visits the Fashion Incubator
Very much invoking a feeling of an old Paris Salon, Mr. Talley visited our class of Inaugural Designers at the Incubator on Saturday morning. Each designer spoke about their designs and Mr. Talley offered his comments and suggestions about their work. It was an inspiring morning to have a living fashion legend take the time to talk extensively with our designers about their work and what he learned from his own mentors, such as Diana Vreeland, Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour.

A Conversation with André Leon Talley at the Saint Louis Art Museum
On Saturday, in collaboration with the Saint Louis Art Museum, we hosted a sold out event with André Leon Talley, Eric Johnson, Executive Director of the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator and Genevieve Cortinovis, of the Saint Louis Art Museum. Ms. Cortinovis is the Assistant Curator of decorative arts and design and Co-curator of the St. Louis presentation of “Reigning Men” moderated the event. Mr. Talley shared with us his encyclopedic knowledge of fashion and he spoke of the importance of recognizing that fashion can be a big or small moment.
